PhotoArchie is not a backup or security vault
Compressed copies are made for everyday viewing and storage savings. They are not a replacement for full-quality originals or an independent backup. Keep a separate copy of media you cannot afford to lose.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Use govern your use of the PhotoArchie iPhone app, its widgets, and related features. PhotoArchie is provided by Ganesh Pawar, an independent developer (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using PhotoArchie after these terms have been presented to you, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Apple's Standard End User License Agreement applies to App Store downloads unless a custom license agreement is provided. These terms supplement and do not replace Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. They describe PhotoArchie's specific features and responsibilities. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
2. What PhotoArchie does
PhotoArchie accesses the Apple Photos items you permit it to use and creates smaller, local photo and video copies for browsing. These copies may have lower resolution, quality, or metadata than the originals. An item that has not been compressed may still be displayed from Apple Photos while it is available there.
PhotoArchie is not a full replacement for Apple Photos, an original-quality archive, a cloud backup service, or an encrypted vault. Features may depend on Photos permission, available device storage, iOS behavior, and whether an original is available on the device.
3. Your media and your choices
Your photos and videos remain yours. We do not claim ownership of them or ask for a license to use them for advertising, training, or distribution. Processing for compression and viewing happens on your device. You are responsible for having the rights needed to use or share media you choose to access with PhotoArchie.
PhotoArchie does not offer an action to delete Apple Photos originals. Removing an item from PhotoArchie removes any local archive copy and its records and hides it in the app; the original remains in Apple Photos. To delete an original, use Apple Photos separately.
If you choose to share or export media, the person, app, or service you select receives it under its own terms and privacy practices. PhotoArchie does not share media on your behalf without that action.
4. Local storage and recovery
PhotoArchie keeps viewing copies and related records in app-controlled storage on your device, including storage shared with its widget. We do not operate a cloud service that stores or restores your media. Apple's device backup or transfer features may handle app data according to your settings and Apple's rules; PhotoArchie does not promise that its copies will be included in, or recoverable from, a device backup.
Copies and records can become unavailable because of app removal, device loss or reset, storage failure, corruption, permission changes, or other circumstances. Before removing the app or an Apple Photos original, make sure any media you need is safely available in Apple Photos or an independent backup. Removing PhotoArchie does not cancel a subscription.
5. Privacy and security features
PhotoArchie uses iOS app sandboxing and file protection. Optional App Lock and screen-capture protection can reduce accidental or casual access to media shown in the app. These controls do not guarantee protection against device compromise, access to an unlocked or shared device, unauthorized access, or data loss. Keep your device updated and protected with a passcode. See the Privacy Policy's security section for more detail.
6. Pro subscriptions
Some PhotoArchie features require a Pro subscription. The app shows the available plan, price, billing period, and included features before you confirm a purchase. Subscriptions purchased in the app are billed by Apple and renew automatically until cancelled. You can manage or cancel one in your Apple Account subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not automatically refund a current billing period or remove local copies.
Apple's purchase and refund processes apply to App Store transactions. PhotoArchie uses RevenueCat to check subscription status and restore access. A subscription does not add cloud media backup or recovery. See our Privacy Policy for purchase-related data handling.
7. Availability, responsibility, and your rights
We aim to provide PhotoArchie with reasonable care, but cannot promise uninterrupted operation, error-free compression, perfect security, or recovery of lost media. Device storage, iOS, Apple Photos, and services outside our control can affect availability. Keep important originals or an independent backup and check a copy before relying on it.
To the extent applicable law permits, we are not responsible for loss caused solely by circumstances outside our reasonable control, such as device theft or a deletion you confirmed. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that the law does not allow us to exclude, or limits responsibility for our own fraud or other conduct that cannot lawfully be limited. If you believe PhotoArchie caused a problem, contact us so we can investigate it.
8. Changes to the app or these terms
We may update PhotoArchie and these terms as features or legal requirements change. The current terms and revision date will be posted here. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law. Changes do not take away rights you already have under mandatory consumer law.
