PhotoArchie

Privacy Policy

Your media stays on your device.

PhotoArchie compresses photos and videos locally. It does not provide cloud media storage, show ads, sell personal information, or upload your photo library to the developer.

Effective and last updated: October 3, 2026

PhotoArchie is a compression tool, not a security vault

PhotoArchie creates lightweight local copies for browsing and storage savings. It is not a cloud-backup service, an end-to-end encrypted vault, or a guarantee against device compromise, data loss, or unauthorized access. Keep originals or another backup of media you cannot afford to lose.

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

PhotoArchie is provided by Ganesh Pawar, an independent developer ("PhotoArchie," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the PhotoArchie iOS app, its widgets and extensions, support or feedback features, and the related PhotoArchie website pages.

For privacy questions or requests, contact photo.archie90@gmail.com.

2. The short version

You do not need a PhotoArchie account. Photo and video compression is performed on your device. We do not receive, host, inspect, sell, or use your photo or video content for advertising, AI training, or profiling. Limited information can leave your device when you make a purchase, send feedback, visit this page, intentionally share media with another app or service, or enable optional app-usage analytics.

3. Information handled on your device

With the permissions you choose to grant, PhotoArchie can access and process:

  • photos and videos you allow the app to access;
  • library information needed to display and organize media, such as dates, dimensions, duration, favorite or hidden status, album relationships, and local Photos identifiers;
  • compressed copies, thumbnails, archive and compression records, storage-savings information, app settings, labels, player names, and game history;
  • optional widget thumbnails and related records shared between the app and its widget through Apple's App Group storage;
  • on-device image-selection eligibility and broad content categories used for memory-widget photos and symbols and the When Was This game; and
  • device-authentication results used for optional App Lock. Face ID, Touch ID, and passcode data are handled by iOS and are not available to us.

This information is stored locally in PhotoArchie's app or App Group container. It is not sent to the developer. Removing an item from PhotoArchie removes any local archive copy and its records and hides it in the app. It does not delete the original from Apple Photos.

Optional image content classification

When image content classification is enabled, PhotoArchie uses an offline Apple system framework strictly on your device to help choose photos for the memory widget and the game's automatic selection, avoid screenshots or text-heavy images, and show a broad content-related symbol on memory widgets. The app does not transmit images or classification tags from this analysis to the developer, analytics, or another server. You can turn this feature off in Settings. With it off, PhotoArchie does not run that image analysis; automatic picks are random among eligible photos and may include screenshots or text-heavy images. Memory widgets can still match photos to a date without analyzing image content.

4. When information may leave your device

Apple Photos and iCloud

PhotoArchie does not request an iCloud-only original for compression or viewing. These features use media available on your device; an iCloud-only item may be unavailable until you make it available locally through Apple Photos. We do not receive that media.

Purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes payments. PhotoArchie uses RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage Pro access. RevenueCat may receive purchase history, product and subscription status, Apple receipt information, a RevenueCat-generated anonymous app user identifier, and limited app/device technical information. We do not provide RevenueCat with your photo or video content, name, email address, contacts, or advertising identifier. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

This information is used to complete and restore purchases, provide paid features, prevent fraud, and understand subscription performance. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.

Feedback and support

If you choose Feedback, PhotoArchie opens a Google Form. Google and the developer receive the information you choose to submit, which may include your message and any contact information you provide. Do not include photos, videos, passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information in feedback. Google may also receive technical information associated with your visit under Google's Privacy Policy.

Sharing and exporting

When you choose to export or share media, iOS sends it to the person, app, or service you select. That recipient's privacy practices apply. PhotoArchie does not automatically share your media.

App Store services and this website

PhotoArchie may contact Apple's App Store services to check for updates and to manage purchases. The PhotoArchie pages on ganeshpawar.app use GoDaddy hosting. We do not add advertising, analytics scripts, or cookies to these pages. GoDaddy may process technical request information, including IP addresses, browser information, and access logs, and may inject its own performance-monitoring scripts. See GoDaddy's Privacy Notice and hosting-log information. The existing policy at pawargb.github.io/photoarchie_privacy_policy/ is hosted separately by GitHub Pages; GitHub may process technical request information under GitHub's Privacy Statement.

Legal requirements

We may disclose information that we actually possess if reasonably necessary to comply with law, a valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the app. Because we do not receive your photo library or compressed media, we cannot disclose media that we do not have.

5. Analytics, advertising, and tracking

App-usage analytics is optional and off by default. If you turn on “Share app usage” during onboarding or in Settings, PhotoArchie uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand which app features people use and where app flows fail. We send only fixed names for screen visits, selected buttons and functional toggles, and broad outcomes for compression, purchases, widget refreshes, and the game. We do not send photos, videos, thumbnails, filenames, Photos identifiers, album names, user-created labels, classification results, media counts or sizes, game scores, or raw error messages.

The Analytics SDK also processes an app-instance identifier, app and device technical information, session information, and approximate location derived from network information. StoreKit purchase events may include product identifiers and prices. We do not set a Firebase user ID, collect an advertising identifier for analytics, link analytics to RevenueCat identities, or use analytics for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking. Google may process this information in countries where it or its service providers operate. See Firebase privacy information and Google's Privacy Policy.

You can turn “Share app usage” off in Settings at any time. This stops future Analytics collection and resets local Analytics data; it does not erase information already sent to Google. Google retains previously collected information according to the Analytics property's retention settings and its applicable terms. The app does not show third-party ads, sell personal information, or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Why information is handled

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:

  • Providing the app and purchases you request: to process media locally, display your library, validate purchases, restore entitlements, and provide support.
  • Your consent: for Photos access, notifications, optional feedback, and optional app-usage analytics. You may withdraw consent through the app or iOS settings.
  • Legitimate interests: to keep the app reliable, prevent purchase fraud, respond to support, and protect the service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligations: when records or disclosures are required by applicable law.

7. Your choices, retention, and deletion

  • Photos access: choose Limited or Full Access and change or revoke it in iOS Settings. Revoking access may prevent app features from working.
  • App-usage analytics: off by default; enable or disable “Share app usage” in onboarding or Settings. Turning it off stops future collection and resets local Analytics data. Contact us about requests concerning previously sent data.
  • Image content classification: turn it off in PhotoArchie Settings to use random photo selection for the memory widget and game. The offline Apple system framework will not be used for photo selection while this setting is off.
  • Local data: remove compressed copies and related records using PhotoArchie's available controls. Deleting the app removes its local app data according to iOS behavior; media you separately saved to Apple Photos must be deleted in Photos.
  • Original media: PhotoArchie does not offer an action to delete Apple Photos originals. Removing an item from PhotoArchie removes any local archive copy and its records and hides it in the app; the original remains in Apple Photos. To delete an original, use Apple Photos separately.
  • Subscriptions: view, cancel, or manage them in your Apple Account subscription settings. Cancellation does not erase transaction records that Apple or RevenueCat must keep for purchase, fraud-prevention, accounting, or legal purposes.
  • Feedback: information you submit is kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, improve the app, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete feedback we control.

Local app information remains until you delete it with available controls or remove the app. Service providers retain the limited information they process according to their policies and legal duties.

8. International processing

Purchase, analytics, feedback, support, and website-hosting providers may process limited information in the United States, India, or other countries where they operate. Privacy laws in those places may differ from those where you live. Where applicable, we and our providers rely on recognized safeguards for international transfers.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information we control, and to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to appeal a refusal and to complain to your local data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Send a request to photo.archie90@gmail.com. Describe the request and the app or service involved. We may need to verify that the request relates to you. We cannot provide or delete on-device data that never reached us; you control that data on your device. Apple, RevenueCat, Google, GoDaddy, and GitHub may need to handle requests for information they control.

For California and other U.S. state privacy laws, PhotoArchie does not sell personal information or share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. For users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may contact your local supervisory authority in addition to contacting us.

10. Children

PhotoArchie is a general-audience photo utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through feedback or support, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

11. Security and local-storage limitations

PhotoArchie uses iOS app sandboxing and file-protection features for its local files. Optional App Lock can gate the user interface through Apple's device-owner authentication, and optional screen-capture protection can reduce accidental exposure during recording, mirroring, or sharing. These controls reduce risk but do not make PhotoArchie an encrypted security vault and do not protect against every compromised, unlocked, jailbroken, backed-up, or shared device scenario.

No method of local storage or electronic transmission is completely secure. Keep iOS updated, use a strong device passcode, enable PhotoArchie's privacy controls when appropriate, and maintain a separate backup of important originals. If you discover a security issue, contact us at the address below.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when PhotoArchie's features, providers, or legal obligations change. The current version and revision date will remain on this page. If a change materially expands how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required before the new use begins.
