Common questions.

A few answers to get you moving again.

Why hasn’t my device storage decreased?

PhotoArchie creates smaller viewing copies, so keeping originals and copies uses additional storage. It never deletes originals from Apple Photos. Check your copies and keep a separate backup of important originals before deciding what to remove from Apple Photos. With iCloud Photos, deletion also affects iCloud and synced devices.

What happens when I use the free 3 GB?

The free allowance is measured by the original size of successfully compressed media. Once it is used, Storage Saver is needed for further compression. Existing archived copies remain browsable without a subscription.

Why are some photos or videos missing?

Check PhotoArchie’s Photos permission in your device’s Settings and allow access to the items you want to archive. Check any active album or label filters in Archie. If media is stored in iCloud, make sure it is available on your device and retry with an internet connection.

Are archived copies a backup of my originals?

Keep a separate backup of important originals. Compressed copies are for everyday viewing and may lose detail, resolution, or metadata. PhotoArchie stores its archive locally; it is not a cloud backup. Avoid deleting the app while troubleshooting, because that can remove its local archive.

How do Child and Teen Modes work?

Storage Saver includes both modes. They limit browsing to one album: Child Mode is view-only; Teen Mode also allows sharing and removal from PhotoArchie. Apple Photos originals remain untouched. Device-owner authentication is needed to exit while the app is running; quitting and reopening ends the mode.

YOUR PURCHASES

Access &
subscriptions.

Help with restoring access, managing a plan, or requesting a refund.

I purchased access but it isn’t available. What should I do?

Check that you are signed in to the Apple Account used for the purchase. Connect to the internet, reopen the app, and use its Restore Purchases option. If access is still missing, email the developer with the plan and purchase date. Do not include your Apple Account password or payment-card details.

How do I manage or cancel a subscription?

On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions and select the app. On Mac, use the App Store account settings to manage subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. A lifetime purchase, if you chose one, does not renew. Apple’s subscription guide.

How do I request a refund?

Apple handles App Store payments and refund requests. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and follow the refund-request steps. Eligibility is determined by Apple. Read Apple’s refund guide.
